Ted B. Lyon has been committed to public service for his entire life. As a former police officer, a member of the Texas House of Representatives and Senate, as a lawyer, an outdoorsman, a spouse and father, Ted Lyon knows people. Acting as a lawyer for injured individuals and families is thus neither a goal nor an aspiration, but simply a way of life. In this powerful interview, Ted discusses the case of Talmadge Waldrip v. U-Haul International (http://www.tedlyon.com/u-haul.html), where a 74-year-old man was seriously injured after a parked U-Haul truck he rented rolled over him. The six jurors returned an $84.25 million verdict in favor of his client, Talmadge Waldrip, including a $63 million in punitive damages against U-Haul International for failing to maintain its rental trucks in safe working order.

Since graduating from Southern Methodist University Law School in 1975, Ted has also dedicated the past twenty-six years to helping people. Before turning to private practice, Ted spent fifteen years in the legislature, serving four years in the Texas House of Representatives and eleven years in the Texas Senate, respectively. Ted received more than twenty awards and honors for his accomplishments in the legislature. D Magazine recently named Ted as one of the top personal injury lawyers in Dallas.

Ted graduated from East Texas University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science. Ted received his Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1975, and was licensed by the Texas Supreme Court in 1976, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas in 1976, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas in 1984, the United States Supreme Court in 1986, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas in 1993.

Randall L. Calvert established the Calvert Law Firm in 1990. Since its inception, his experience as a certified public accountant and entrepreneur have heavily influenced the direction of the firm. Randall brings an innovative approach to complex business and legal problems. In this informative and exciting interview, he discusses a case (http://www.lawyersusaonline.com/index.cfm/archive/view/id/432608) where an Oklahoma jury ordered Shell Oil Co. to pay $66 million to five royalty owners (several of them deceased) for their share of a lucrative oil well dug in the early-1970s. The payments will go to two families who owned the land where Shell drilled for oil but were never informed when the company struck a huge reserve and built a well on the land in 1973.

Randall has also received the highest rating afforded by Martindale-Hubbell (AV) and is recognized by his peers as one of the preeminent attorneys in the United States. Currently, Randall is Chairman of the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission. He is actively involved in the implementation of regulations for casino style gaming at the Oklahoma race tracks.
