Peter F. Vaira is a highly distinguished attorney and a fifteen-year veteran of the U.S. Department of Justice. In this exciting interview, he discusses qui tam actions and several landmark cases involving various whistleblowers.

Peter also served in the Organized Crime Section of the U.S. Department of Justice for ten years, during which time he was the Attorney in Charge of both the Philadelphia and Chicago Strike Forces on Organized Crime. He served as United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania for five years and later was the Executive Director of the President's Commission on Organized Crime in Washington, D.C. Peter additionally writes a regular column for the Legal Intelligencer on Eastern District Practice. His practice involves white collar criminal defense, antitrust, corporate crisis management, complex civil litigation, and national and international arbitrations.

He has served since 1995 as the Independent Hearing Officer of the Laborers' International Union of North America, a post created by agreement between the U.S. Department of Justice and the Union in a reform effort. Peter is also a federal court-appointed arbitrator in the nationwide Fen-Phen litigation. He is also a certified federal court mediator for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Peter is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, an international arbitration service in London.

Douglas H, Wigdor is a founding partner of Thompson Wigdor & Gilly LLP.  In this interview, he gives a compelling overview to his representation of a group of women in a gender discrimination class action against Citigroup. In connection with that representation, he coined the phrase "Recessionary Discrimination" to characterize the growing trend by companies of using mass lay-offs to cover-up the discriminatory treatment and/or impact on groups of women, people of color and those over 40.

As a former Federal Law Clerk in the Eastern District of New York, Assistant District Attorney and senior lawyer at one of the nation's largest and most prominent management-side labor and employment law firms, Doug has extensive trial experience in both state and federal court having successfully tried numerous cases in both venues. Two peer review studies, The Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers, have recognized Doug as one of the nation's leading labor and employment lawyers.

Doug’s handling of numerous high profile cases has resulted in frequent appearances on national television and being quoted in worldwide publications. He has been interviewed on Nightline, Good Morning America, CNN American Morning, Your World with Neil Cavuto and many other television shows including regular appearances on CNBC, ABC News, CBS News and NBC News. Doug is frequently quoted as a legal expert in newspapers and magazines including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, London Times, Daily Telegraph, London Independent, USA Today, New York Post, Daily News, EuroMoney and DerSpiegel.
