Davud holds an undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and a law degree from the University of Miami. Randall H. Scarlett concentrates his practice in the areas of catastrophic personal injury, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, wrongful death and other serious wrongs. In this powerful interview, he discusses a case he recently handled in which a San Francisco jury awarded his client $23 million in damages for having suffered permanent brain damage when she was hit by a tour bus on Nob Hill in 2005. The award handed down March 13, 2009, includes $15.1 million for Xiu Jin "Celia" Shi's future pain and suffering and $6.4 million to provide round-the-clock care. The 51-year-old book-store employee was crossing a California Street intersection when she was struck by a Coach USA tour bus making an illegal left turn. Shi was in the crosswalk and walking with a green light, witnesses said. Shi suffered severe brain injuries that required four surgeries and nine months in hospitals and rehabilitation centers, leaving her with permanent frontal-lobe dam-age. Randy is also a President's Club Member of the American Association for Justice and is a past Chair and current Board Member of the Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Section of the American Association for Justice. He serves as a member of the Leaders Forum of that organization. Randy lectures frequently throughout the United States before lawyers and non-lawyer groups alike. He is a Fellow of Trial Advocacy with the National College of Advocacy and is sitting this year for qualification as Diplomate of that organization. Roger Clark is the founding member and managing partner of Clark, Goldberg & Madruga www.clarkgoldberg.com. In his more than 25 years practicing law, Roger has earned a national reputation as a successful trial attorney representing insurers, cable television providers, and small and large businesses in a broad range of business litigation matters. “My philosophy has always been that the attorneys in this law firm must be prepared not just to ‘litigate’ a case, but to try it before a judge or jury, while at the same time keeping the client’s goals and objectives squarely within our sights.” Roger is rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest rating that can be bestowed upon an attorney.
