America’s Best Selling Authors Series - Featung Walter Mosley Co-Hosted By Roger C. Clark

Eugene Jarecki is an award-winning dramatic and documentary filmmaker whose most recent film WHY WE FIGHT won the 2005 Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. "Combining the skills of journalist and poet," VARIETY writes, "Eugene Jarecki joins the top ranks of non-fiction filmmakers with WHY WE FIGHT, a thoroughgoing and affecting film on the nature and causes of the American military-industrial complex." In 1992, after training at Princeton University as a stage director, Jarecki turned to film. His first short subject SEASON OF THE LIFTERBEES premiered at the 1993 Sundance Film Festival before winning both a Student Academy Award and the Time Warner Grand Prize at the Aspen Film Festival.

His prior film, THE TRIALS OF HENRY KISSINGER, was released theatrically to critical acclaim in 130 U.S. cities. Winner of the 2002 Amnesty International Award, the film was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and has been broadcast in over thirty countries. In 2001, Jarecki also wrote and directed his first dramatic feature, THE OPPONENT, which was distributed by Lions Gate Films. In addition to his work in film, Jarecki is also the Founder and Executive Director of The Eisenhower Project, an academic public policy group, dedicated in the spirit of Dwight D. Eisenhower, to studying the forces that shape American foreign policy.

Nick Tasler is the director of research and development for think tank and consultancy TalentSmart. Through his research, he realized that the recent discovery by scientists of a potential-seeking gene could have a remarkable impact on how we understand decision making. Those who have this gene -- about one quarter of the population -- are endowed with impulsive tendencies that can lead to fast and decisive action or to foolish choices. The cautious majority that Nick calls risk managers can make carefully considered decisions or become hopelessly lost in the fog of details. Now The Impulse Factor offers readers a unique online opportunity to analyze their own decision-making style and harness it to improve their everyday lives. Each book comes with access to a proprietary assessment developed specifically to evaluate impulsivity. With examples from business, psychology, and Nick's own research at TalentSmart, the book also vividly illustrates how susceptible we are to the events around us and how our reactions often run contrary to our best interests. By combining his research with real-world examples of extreme decision-making, Nick teaches readers how to thrive when faced with difficult choices. More than just a book, The Impulse Factor provides a clear understanding of why you make the choices you do -- and the tools to make those decisions change your business and your life.

Roger Clark is the founding member and managing partner of Clark, Goldberg & Madruga www.clarkgoldberg.com. In his more than 25 years practicing law, Roger has earned a national reputation as a successful trial attorney representing insurers, cable television providers, and small and large businesses in a broad range of business litigation matters. “My philosophy has always been that the attorneys in this law firm must be prepared not just to ‘litigate’ a case, but to try it before a judge or jury, while at the same time keeping the client’s goals and objectives squarely within our sights.” Roger is rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest rating that can be bestowed upon an attorney.
